Spin Class Hell
I tried a spin class years ago. It was a great workout, but I went totally unprepared. Who knew? The bike seats were wicked uncomfortable then and still are, and everyone seems to take this for granted. Are bike seats supposed to permanently maim and mutilate your crotch? I vowed never to do another one of these classes as a little personal boycott of the seats. This morning I saw a woman in my gym locker room heading to a spin class. She had her own pad to cover the seat plus she had bike shorts that were padded. This is a lot of extra effort to go to.
Why can't seats just be made comfortable? Is that too much to ask? My first nice 10 speed bike, that I rode a lot in the 1970's, had a horrible seat too. It would take me several rides to get used to the seat. I finally broke down and bought a comfy wider, flatter seat. If you spend a lot of money on a bike, you should get a reasonable seat!!!
